First Look at Aquaria Designer: 360° Rotation & Coral Sand Base

Aquaria Designer Software

What You’re Seeing

This early demo showcases a simple aquarium setup: a bare tank with fine coral sand, fully rotatable in 3D. No wood, no rocks, no plants — just the base. But that’s the point. It gives a first feel for how smooth and intuitive the navigation will be when building your scape.

Coral sand was chosen for this first preview because of its subtle texture and natural tone. It renders beautifully in our engine and reflects light realistically — an early example of the visual quality we’re aiming for.

Where We Are Right Now

This first preview represents the very foundation of the tool. So far, we’ve built:

  • Aquarium size selection
  • Realistic base layer (in this case, coral sand)
  • A fully working 360° rotation view

We’re currently working hard on implementing more features like placing rocks, wood, plants, substrate variations, and eventually light simulation. Everything is being built modularly — the idea is that you can layer and build your dream scape, step by step.

Why This Preview?

We believe in building Aquaria Designer openly and with the community. This 360° preview is not a full feature demo, but it gives a glimpse into how the tool will feel. Our goal is to create a realistic and flexible environment that supports creativity — and that’s something we want your input on.

Want to Help?

We’re currently preparing for early testing and are looking for hobbyists, aquascapers, and aquarium lovers who’d like to give feedback and help shape the next phases. You don’t need technical experience — just curiosity and a love for aquariums.

If you're interested in testing or sharing your thoughts, reply to the forum topic where you found this post or send a private message — we’d love to get in touch.
